ADCMShirley said, "I'm sure it won't take long before WT publishes some strong opinion about this procedure should it become more common."
Watchtower, October 1, 2014:
"...Therefore, the decision is not to trouble those from the nations who are turning to God, but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from cold water, although the use of cold water fractions are a matter of conscience."

What happened to member "Amazing"?
by EdenOne ini have read last night the personal story of forum member "amazing", which he posted in 19 installments about 12 years ago.
there are so many things about his experience that i can relate with.
he seems to have vanished from this forum, for his last post as "amazing" was about 3 years ago.

I'll assume you alreadt know Amazing!'s real name.
After Amazing! left JWD/JWN and re-embraced his Roman Catholic heritage, he began posting on "Channel C", which is a forum that requires an application for posting membership and limits posting membership to Christians. Anyone can go to "Channel C" and read the posts, but only "the elect" can comment to anything
Amazing! had health problems (why do otherwise inteligent people smoke?) which I hope he has survived.
The original owner of "Channel C" died within the past couple of years and for a while the fate of Channel C was uncertain.
But it exists as of five minuts ago.

Has anyone ever saved another persons life?
by LogCon ini don't mean you advised them and they changed their lives around, kind of saving a life.. i mean right before your eyes, right now, you had to do something to save a person or they would be dead.. how did it make you feel?
did it have any affect on you?.
forty years ago i was working on a construction site and a back-hoe had loosened a large boulder.

I once used my Theocratic Ministry School training to leave a copy of the AWAKE! in a laundromat; I felt good knowing that I just might have saved a stranger from Armageddon.

Published life story of Australian ex-Witness. An absorbing read.
by MrMonroe inthere are a number of books available on amazon giving the life stories of ex-witnesses.
i've always been intrigued by one called "i'm perfect, you're doomed" by kyria abrahams, which sounds like a witty read.
one day i'll buy it!.

Taurus58, welcome aboard the S. S. JWN! We're (the imperial we) glad you're here! I just got my copy of 'A Little Lower Than Angels' and I'm eager to dig into it!
Although the WTB&TS tries to present an image of boring homogeneity to the world, EVERY experience of EVERY JW who makes it to the e X it and survives is different. Even if they're twins, each individual has a different story to tell... kind of an "e unum pluribus" situation.
Has 'Witch Way?' gone to the presses yet?

But the power of Lord Jesus compels me to share these life-saving words of TROOTH with you. [Nathan hisses like a viper]

Where do we go when we die?
by bsand20 inmy best friend of 14 years and maid of honor passed away 2 months ago at age 32 after battling breast cancer for 6 years.
i haven't been the same since for many reasons.. as a jw kid i believed 144,000 chosen went to heaven, the good people would be resurrected including those who didn't have a chance to hear about jehovah, and the rest, which were of other religions and bad people, died and would cease to exist.
again, because i was a kid when i left, i never really understood the jw position on death and why they came to their conclusion.

Isn't it great that the most popular myth determines reality?
There is no spirit realm, you do not have a soul, when you're dead you are gone, "heaven" is empty. There you go.

LoisLane - Generally I like Ivar's. I'm near Ivars Indian Salmon House and have dined inside and got take-away from the outdoor fish 'n chips bar. I've never had a problem with either. Is there one location that you've found problematic? ...was it food quality, service or ambience? Not all store managers are always at the top of their game.
Shirley - I didn't say I "HAD" a hoverboard, I just expressed distance in terms of hoverboard-ability. No, I'm joking - of COURSE I have a hoverboard! It was a gift when I joined The Liars' Club! Yeah, THAT'S the ticket!
I think the Dubs attending will find the stadium overrun with rabid beavers. But there's no threat from the primarily nocturnal, large, semi-aquatic rodents living in the marshy shores of Lake Washington.

Has anyone mentioned the lack of nearby eateries?
I live within ten minutes from Husky Stadium by hoverboard.
The proper name of the stadium is "Alaska Airlines Arena at The University of Washington." But everyone calls it Husky Stadium becuase that's where the University of Washington (u Dub) Huskies football team plays.
As has been already mentioned, the immediately adjacent "properties" are Lake Washington
(with a temperature of 50° or less, it is ideal for baptisms. High-beams, anyone? ),
the Lake Washington Ship Canal and University property. If you walk north a good 1/4 mile, you have the "University Village" shopping center with some restaurants and fast food places in and around U Village. There are a couple of local burger joints - Burgermaster and Kidd Valley and a McDonald's, various Pizza places, a GREAT ( and expensive, cheapskates) local steakhouse - Jak's Grill. There are other restarants, but I can't vouch for them.
The closest motel is "Silver Cloud Inn - University District". It is at the north side of U Village, so it might be one kilometer (0.6 mile) from the Stadium. I have absolutely no idea about the availability or the quality of the rooms. I would bet money they do NOT have room service.
About a quarter-mile south of the Stadium on the other side of the canal is a mostly residential area with no fast or slow food for about another mile or so.
I think the WTB&TS saw the relative isolation of the Stadium as a MAJOR appeal. "Keep the audience captive."
